We are the UK’s largest official distributor, stockist & specifier authorised by Jung Pumpen GmbH
Who are Jung Pumpen?
Jung Pumpen GmbH is a renowned manufacturer specialising in high-quality pumps and pumping systems for a variety of applications, including wastewater and sewage technologies.
Established in Germany, the company has developed a strong reputation for engineering excellence and innovative solutions tailored to both residential and industrial needs. Jung Pumpen is known for its durable products that deliver reliability and efficiency, making it a preferred choice among professionals in the field. The company also focuses on environmental sustainability, ensuring that its technologies contribute to effective water management and conservation practices, reflecting its commitment to both technological advancement and ecological responsibility.
In 2007, Jung Pumpen was acquired by Pentair, an American water technology giant. This strategic takeover allowed Pentair to expand its global footprint in the water management industry, particularly enhancing its capabilities in the wastewater and sewage sectors. The acquisition integrated Jung Pumpen’s advanced engineering and product expertise with Pentair’s extensive range of water treatment and sustainable solutions. This merger not only broadened Pentair’s portfolio but also strengthened its commitment to providing advanced water technologies that improve efficiency, reliability, and environmental stewardship across the globe.
Here at Pump Technology, we fondly continue to refer to the brand as Jung Pumps, or affectionately as the ‘yellow pump’ brand, harking back to a time when these vibrant, distinctive pumps first made their mark in the industry. This nostalgic nod not only honours the original color that made Jung Pumps instantly recognisable (and still does!) but also celebrates the lasting impact and reliability that these pumps have demonstrated over the years. It’s a tribute to the legacy of quality and innovation that Jung Pumpen established, a legacy that continues to influence the specifications we provide to our customers today.
What products do Jung Pumps manufacture?
Jung Pumpen produces a variety of pump ranges designed for different applications, primarily focusing on wastewater and sewage management.
Here are some of the key product lines they offer:
Drainage Pumps: These are used for removing water from flooded areas, basements, and garages or for draining ponds and pools.
Sewage Pumps: Designed for handling wastewater that includes solids, these pumps are essential for residential buildings, municipal works, and industrial applications.
Multicut Pumps: These pumps come with integrated cutting systems that are particularly useful in pumping wastewater with fibrous and solid materials, suitable for pressurised sewage systems.
Lifting Stations: While not a pump per se, lifting stations are pre-assembled systems that include pumps and are used to lift sewage to a higher elevation when gravity drainage is not possible.
Submersible Pumps: Ideal for submersion in fluid, these pumps are used across a range of applications including sewage treatment and flooded areas.
Why Pump Technology?
Pump Technology Ltd. is the UK’s largest stockist for Jung Pumpen pumps and we are renowned for our commitment to environmental responsibility and giving back to our community. We support a wide range of clients nationwide and have a specialised Jung Pumpen team dedicated to overseeing all project needs. Our application engineers are on hand to assist you with the optimal selection of pumps and pump stations.
Our flagship products, the DrainMajor and DrainMinor ranges, are at the forefront of our offerings. Crafted from recyclable polyethylene, these products embody our dedication to sustainability—a core principle we share with Jung Pumpen. In a significant collaboration last year with Rainforest Trust, we pledged £5.00 from every 1,000 units specified and/or sold of these systems, contributing directly to the preservation of rainforests and other vital tropical habitats.
While tanks made from glass reinforced plastic (GRP) pose recycling challenges, our polyethylene tanks offer a sustainable alternative, easily repurposed into items such as other tanks, broom handles, and children’s toys.
For Public Health Engineers wanting to specify an environmentally friendly solution, the DrainMajor / DrainMinor wastewater pumping system is the ideal choice, aligning with ecological stewardship and advanced engineering.
